The line crew worked on Sunday to get the starting line looking great. We changed the color to a bright blue and made the control area flat black. Then Donna Marie started to paint the pavilion roof. She never stops!! With the scheduled paving and line striping Monday to Wednesday, it’s going to look like a new track this weekend.

The Pro FE finals (8 low ET qualifiers) matched Vernon Grizzle from Dahloega, Georgia in his Thunderbolt against Baltimore Police officer, Jody Abert’s, 427 Fairlane. Vernon was out first (.014) running a 9.797 on a 9.80 at 134.20 MPH and took the win over Jody’s wheel standing/crowd pleasing (.040) 9.462 on a 9.50 at 136.79 MPH.
The Hot FE finals (11.99 and faster) came down to Steve McBlane driving the Dyno Don `65 A/FX Comet verses Jim Augustine’s S/S 427 Galaxie. Jim was out first (.069) running a 10.348 on a 10.33 at 126.36 MPH but Steve ran him down with a (.040) 9.271 on a 9.25 at 126.36 MPH for the title. Steve’s crew sure cheered the big win.
The Cool FE (12.00 and up) was captured by Chris Moses in his 390 powered `54 Ford over Robert Grizzle (Vern’s dad) in his 390 powered `57 Ford. Chris ran a 15.044 on a 15.00 at 87.69 MPH to Robert’s troubled 14.843 on a 13.15. Still it was a great showing for the Grizzle family for sure.
The bonus FE Bird race became a solo victory for Don Manzini in his 428 powered Cobra when Andy Snetselaar’s `69 Torino couldn’t make the call. Don ran a 12.018 on a 11.99 at 113.00 MPH for the win.

Friday’s Brats, Beans and Beer another big hit
We want to thanks Red Lehr for bringing the Brats from his market in Illinois, Dan Parson for all the adult beverages and Donna Marie for her famous Beaver Beans. It sure was a great bonus for all of the FE Faithful.

Sam Ficarra on board his Ninja, took the Top Beaver title over IHRA National Champ, Thomas Fletcher’s S-10. Sam ran a (.028) dead on 6.450 on a 6.45 to Fletch’s (.042) 6.191 on a 6.16 for the big win.
The SBRA Super Pro victory went to Joey Krushinskie in his dragster over Kevin Little’s Willys. Joey (.025) ran a 5.025 on a 5.00 to Kev’s (.032) run out 5.486 on a 5.49 pass.
Thomas Fletcher made the trek from Churchville, New York a profitable one stopping local hero Lou Drayer in the finals of Foot Brake in his Peak sponsored S-10 with a (.026) 6.205 on a 6.17 to Loui’s (.041) 5.996 on a 5.97.
Sam “Guido” Ficarra (bottom) is on fire this season taking his second win in a row defeating Billy Maturo in the Bike finals. Sam ran a (.021) 6.578 on a 6.50 to Billy’s (-.029) red lighting 5.992 on a 5.97.
Bryce Vollman (bottom) made his first visit to the Beaver this season a good one taking the JR title over SBRA Bracket Finals Champ, Sarah Cisney with a (.035 8.056 on a 8.01 to Sarah’s (.009) 9.774 on a 9.70.
The Hot Rod Trophy title fell to Bob Witmer in his classic Camaro over Dave Fetter’s `3 Dodge wagon. Bob ran a (.035) 8.056 on a 8.01 to Dave’s (.009) 9.774 on a 9.70 in the win.
The Lil Beaver finals was all Pontiac, all Bobby, with the win going to Bobby Newlin in his Sunfire over Bobby Flick’s GTO. Newlin ran a (.008) 6.618 on a 6.60 to Flick’s (.015) 5629 on a 5.60.

Bikers ready to make a blast!
Dave Weaver was the man that couldn’t be beat on the IHRA Season Opener. He opened the day with a win in Street eliminator over Brandon Cox’s Nova with a final round (.012 R/T) 12.350 on a 12.34 to Brandon’s (.023 R/T) 12.541 on a 12.53. He then went on to stop Modified Champ, Reid Ricketson’s Duster, in the finals of Top Beaver with a (.017) 12.340 on a 12.33 to Reid’s (.021) 11.337 on a 11.34. Dave and dad Bob share the winners circle. What a great start to the season.
Larry Johnson put his good looking Camaro in the Top ET winners circle with a final round victory over Tim Armstrong’s Dragster. Larry cut a great .001 and ran a 8.650 on a 8.62 at 152.05 MPH to stop Tim’s (..025) 7.564 on a 7.57 at 173.04 MPH. His crew and family sure were happy for the win.
Reid Ricketson made the long haul from Buffalo, NY a profitable one notching a final round Modified victory over Brian Weaver’s Camaro with a (.007 R/T) 11.297 on a 11.33 at 116.47 MPH to Brian’s (.005 R/T) 9.151 on a 9.19 at 137.34 MPH.
Sam “Guido” Ficarra took a look over at Zippo and took the stripe in a close one in IHRA Bike finals. Sam ran a (.037 R/T) 9.980 on a 9.97 at 126.03 MPH to Zippo’s (.031 R/T) 9.945 on a 9.82 at 137.59 MPH riding Justin Kessler’s `Busa.
Hot Rod Trophy went to Clay Wrigleworth driving Sam Hoyle’s Camaro over Larry Swartz’s 13 Camaro. Clay carded a 15.088 on a 14.95 at 86.06 MPH to Stop Larry’s 15.177 on a 15.13 at 88.12 MPH.
Brandon Flick took the JR Dragster honors over Anastazia Barschefski with a final round 8.230 on a 7.90 at 65.56 MPH to Anastazia’s 8.691 on a 8.70 at 74.43 MPH.
The ATV title fell to Clay Leitzel on his Suzuki with a final round 13.95 at 46.26 MPH.
The Little Beaver victory was claimed by Brian Snyder on board his Hayabusa over Big Dan Swank’s Malibu with a final round 9.838 on a 9.70 at 138.71 MPH to Dan’s 9.986 on a 10.00 at 133.65 MPH.
