JULY 22, 2009: STOP LIGHT DRAGS CANCELED

     OFFICIAL SCHEDULE CHANGES

As much as we here at the Beaver like to think we can put events together and work hard at making them successful, sometimes you just can't hit the right combination. That is what has happened with the STOP LIGHT DRAGS series. After a year and a half making successive changes to find the right mix, we kept coming up short. Just like Ford did with the Thunderbird and Chevy with the Camaro, we are going to discontinue the series for the remainder of the season. We'll work on a new plan and come back later in 2010-2011. Our thanks go out to everyone who gave it a shot.

IMPORTANT INFORMATION
All of the above classes will be in the new Auto-Dial-In format
It's really simple. All of your qualifying runs are recorded and logged into the Compulink Star-Trac timing system. Your best run based on ET is recorded and saved to a main frame file. In the Class eliminations races when we enter your car number the computer automatically enters your Dial-In handicap from the lowest ET recorded during qualifying. You don't have to do anything but race.
ALLOWED RUN OUT IN PLAY
Before the race begins we draw the allowed run out card.
It will be either .07 .10 or .13
Remember though, if you run under the allowed run out by more, you lose.

The STOP LIGHT RACES:   Racing for PINKS
Time slips and scoreboards are on - Real Traffic Signal

All races are run using our new BSD Traffic Light. That's right, a real traffic light. When you pre-stage the YELLOW lights up. When you're staged, the yellow goes out and the RED lights up. Jimmy hits the switch and it's an "INSTANT GREEN"  When your class is called, you come to the staging lanes with your "PINK SLIP" stuck to the inside of your drivers window.  You race and win, you take their PINK SLIP.

You continue to race until you lose your PINK SLIP.
Last man standing is the winner.

CASH CLASSES:  Qualified by ET recorded in the tower

King of the Street:  8 quickest Cars in time trials.
$300 to win (Best of 3 for final run)  $50 for each round won.
If you lose in round 1, you can drop into round 1 of Real Street.

Wild Card Shootout:  8 closest Cars and Bikes by ET.
$100 to win (Best of 3 for final run)  $25 for each round won.

If you lose in round 1, you can drop into round 1 of Real Street

  KING of the STREET:
Heads up!   Flat out!   First to the finish!!

King of the Street is a qualified field for the 8 fastest cars from Real and Tuner Street. Racers are paired on a sportsman latter by ET.
Then it's a shoot out to see who is the King of the Street.
$300 to win (Best of 3 in final run off)  $50 for each round won.

   WILD CARD SHOOTOUT:
Heads up!   Flat out!   First to the finish!!

The Wild Card Shootout is a qualified field of 8 cars that are grouped the closest by ET during qualifying. EXAMPLE: It could be 4 hot Mustangs, 2 bikes and 2 Tuner cars running 12.10 to 12.25 or it could be a bunch of "Tuners" running 13.70 to 13.90's. Please note we record every run on the qualifying computer in the tower. We know what the group is and we'll announce after each qualifying session. This format gives everyone a chance at running for a lot of glory and little cash. The qualifiers will be pulled in the lanes and paired by ET's on a Sportsman ladder.
Then it's a shoot out to see who is the Wild Card Champ.
$100 to win (Best of 3 in final run off)  $25 for each round won.

GRUDGE RACES:  Time slips and scoreboards are on!!

You can Grudge Race anyone from 5:30 until 8:30 or you can just make as many passes as you want. The lanes are open for over three hours. Once eliminations are started at 9:00 we will permit more Grudge Races as time allows.

  FULL TRACK PREP:
In order to make the race surface safe, the entire track will be prepped with VHT from the starting line to the finish line. Just like a normal IHRA race day.
