The reason we raced 1/8 mile on Sunday

Lou Drayer's  twin turbocharged Cavalier left the line real hard and ran fast.

8.70 at 160.82 MPH looked real good, but there's a lot of smoke.

Lou is out of the car. Joe Clark tries to contain the oil and alky fire.

The big guy is ok. Just minor blisters on his hands.

The mandated safety equipment did it's job.

Everyone pitched in to help clean up.

The car was a total loss, but it can be replaced. No one can replace a Lou Drayer.

Cleo gives a heart felt thanks to Clint Lanning, one of the first at the scene.

Joe Clark and Clint Lanning are true heros. With  total disregard for their own safety, they jumped right in and pulled Lou out of the fire.
