Over 160 cars make season opener

Top Street

Bill Marks put his big 442 Olds in the top Street winner's circle
over a stellar field of hitters. Bill dropped 2007 champ, Capt. Ed
Brady in round one then Michelle McGowan's Mopar before ending
Graham Taylor's bid for a win with a 9.33 on a 9.24 at 139.81 MPH to
the Vega's 10.21 on a 10.09.

Dave Davis, onboard his 'Busa took the Sport Bike title over
Benjamin Reeder's 750 Suzuki with a great 9.19 on a 9.18 at 153.95
MPH to Ben's 11.14 on a 11.10 at 130.47 MPH. What a quick ride on a
Street Legal Hayabusa.

Nate Hess from McClure has one of the more unique helmets at the
track.

Street Stick fell to Matt "Doughboy" Danner in his `87 Mustang in an
all Ford Final over Dennis Henry's `65 Mustang when he carded a
13.05 on a 12.95 at 106.97 MPH.

Doug Madison, the defending Street Automatic Champion, dropped a
close one to Gene Sweitzer's Firebird in round two.

The big Sport Compact title went to Jeremy Campbell of Bloomsburg in
his Honda over Craig Poust hot CRX. Both drivers cut identical .025
lights but Jeremy ran a closer 18.53 on a 18.52 to Craig's 12.46 on
a 12.40.

Craig Poust has one fast CRX. How about 12.30's at over 110.00 MPH!!


Mike and Madam President Michelle McGowan had their 572 inch Mopar
flying in top Street. She qualified with a 9.50 at 145.88 MPH in
Street Legal trim. The first family has leads the parade in knowing
it's all about fun on Friday nights.

Captain Ed Brady had his new engine on all motor running 9.80's.

Nick Diggen's in his Big Diesel Dog Dodge uncorked a new combination
and set low ET of Bone Stock Truck with a 12.85 at 105.06 MPH!!


Larry and Graham Taylor had a lot to smile about on Friday. Larry
set low ET in top Street with a 9.16 at 151.08 MPH in his `67 Dart
while his dad took runner up. Graham is a former ARCA driver who ran
Bill Elliot T-Birds. Talk about a wealth of experience.

Jr ATV is the playground for kids. Nick Cashdollar took the title
over Sarah marks with a great .011 light, running a 13.61 on a 13.52
to Sarah's run out 12.94 on a 13.04.

TCR had a great field of kids. Here Chelsea Kline's Fairlane faces
off with Brandon Renninger's Trans Am in time trials. The title was
captured by Jeremy Moyer in his Mustang over Tyler Bergenstock's
Silverado.

The first Friday Street Race night of the season was a gate buster
with over 160 cars making first round.
