VOLLMAN'S NEW MUSTANG IS TOP BEAVER
In the
Chevy verses Ford of Top Beaver, Modified champ, Jason Weaver was
out first with a .033 light, but Vollman's .016 R/T made the
difference as the Big Block Ford thundered to a 9.17 on a 9.12 at
151.15 MPH to Jason's 9.90 on a 9.87 at 138.05 MPH.
Top Finals was yet another Chevy verses Ford battle with Ken
Warsing's slightly off pace 9.50 on a 9.43 was all the Mustang
needed to take the title. Brian ran closer with a 9.18 on a 9.14 at
152.18 MPH for the win. it sure looks like Vollman has picked up
where he left off in switching from his trusty Taunus to the
Mustang.
2007 Modified Champion, Jason Weaver, picked up his first title
of the season with a final round win over a tough Mark Earnest in
his Nova. It was all won at the tree as Jason cut a .055 to Mark's
.064 and ran a 9.882 on a 9.87 at 133.72 MPH to Mark's 10.145 on a
10.14 at 133.35 MPH.
The IHRA Bike title fell to Ken Kauffman Sr. onboard his Ninja
over Bill Bair's Hayabusa. Ken ran a great 8.66 on a 8.65 at 145.77
MPH to Bill's run out pass of 8.97 on a 9.00 at 146.91 MPH. Bair is
doing great in his Rookie Year. He'll be a tough one.
Billy Nee's is out and gone on a great .005 light. In a rare
miscue, Dave Weaver drew a .014 red light and gave the hard fought
win to the NHRA veteran. Billy ran a 14.148 on a 14.09 at 92.97 MPH
to Dave's 12.53 on a 12.50 at 108.89 MPH. So far this season, Dave
has 3 wins and a runner up. The boy is HOT!!.
Hot Rod Trophy
final was a cat fight between Thamaira Boyle and former TCR Star,
Megan Clark. Thamaira prevailed winning her 4th title in four races
with a 12.46 on a 12.43 at 104.91 MPH in her Mopar to Megan's 15.09
on a 15.07 at 93.56 MPH. The girls are now one - two in the points
standings.
Teen Championship Racing final came down to Zack Miller in his Nova
and Carly (Girlie) Smith in her Cougar. 'Girlie' was out first with
a better light but ran off a little with a 11.02 on a 10.90 at 65.25
MPH to Zack's 10.17 on a 10.16 at 63.93 MPH. Zack is now in the
points lead.
The hotly contested JR Dragster eliminator came down to two
sophomore drivers with the title going to Caitlyn Holland over Cody
Walter's Chevy sponsored rail. Cait ran a 8.47 on a 8.45 at 78.96
MPH to Cody's 8.75 on a 8.95 at 72.38 MPH in a close one.
In the second chance Baby TCR finals it was a battle of Firebirds
with Cody Smith taking the win with a 10.38 on a 10.28 at 65.92 MPH
to the T-Top's 10.35 on a 10.20 at 65.55 MPH. Again this week, Baby
Beaver was a free ride thanks to the Gate Girls.
Baby Beaver JR went to Taylor Philumalee in his green digger over
the brand new "Sand Gator" of Josh Kelley. In a close one Taylor ran
a 10.51 on a 10.48 at 58.91 MPH to Josh's 8.90 on a 8.87 at 75.33
for the title. Again this week, Baby Beaver was a free ride thanks
to the Gate Girls.

the season has officially started now that John Watson has showed up
with his cool Buick Riveria. The 455 lost in round four of Street to
points leader, Dave Weaver via a red light running a 16.19 on a
16.25 at 87.33 MPH.
