August 15, 2009
WEAVER IS TOP BEAVER
Dave
Weaver had the stars in alignment as he won the Brian's trailer
Sales Keystone National ticket race for the fourth year in a
row. Brian and Michelle present Dave and Annie with their
tickets. Karen and Ethel join in the celebration.

In the battle of the best, it was Dave Weaver taking the Top
Beaver title over Modified point leader, Kevin Whitmer in his
sharp Camaro. Dave cut a .037 light and ran a right on 12.63 on
a 12.63 at 105.96 MPH to Kevin's .023 light and 10.10 on a 10.10
at 133.33 MPH.

29 cars made the first round call in the 422 Nostalgia All Star Super
Stock race. In the finals it was a Chevy verses Mopar battle with John
Warehime's `66 Chevelle 427 taking the title over Kyle Reasbeck's 426
Max Wedge Dodge with a 10.476 on a 10.50 index at 121.50 MPH to the
Mopar's 10.58 on a 10.70.

It was an all Ford finals in Top ET with Andy Charcalla taking the title
in his green 86 Mustang over Brian Vollman with a great .004 light and
9.20 on a 9.16 at 143.15 MPH. Brian, playing a fox, was broke and
staged hoping for a foul or run out. It almost worked.

Dave Carpenter is out and on his way to a win over points leader, Kenny
Kauffman. Dave ran a right on 9.54 on a 9.54 at 139.10 MPH for the title
as Kenny went red with a -.006 after Dave had a stellar .138, Ouch!!

The Modified finals was as close as it gets when Numidia standout, Troy
Geyer laid a .004 light on Kevin, but Kev answered back with a .008. In
the traps Whitmer took the win with a 10.091 on a 10.08 at 132.48 MPH as
Troy took too much stripe by .002 running a 10.678 on a 10.68 at 113.06
MPH.

In the finals of Street eliminator, rookie Colin Smith, got a lesson in
driving top end when he tried to dump Dave Weaver at the stripe. With
both drivers looking at each other, and Colin have a better light, (.026
to .066) Dave took the win with a 12.89 on a 12.65 at 94.57 MPH to the
Mustang's 12.95 on a 12.55 at 97.57 MPH. You know how the saying goes,
"Old age and treachery will overcome youth and enthusiasm every time".

In yet another close finals it was Dwight Shelly in his Chevy truck
stopping points leader, Megan Clark with a right on 12.10 on a 12.10 at
108.94 MPH to cutie Megan's run out 15.136 on a 15.14 at 84.50
MPH.

It was family feud time in the JR Dragster finals with the Kohr brothers
matching up. Kevin was out with a late .135, but Kyle cut a -.001 red
giving his little brother his first ever Iron Tree win. Kevin had it
wired running a right on 8.235 on a 8.23.

Zack Miller put his Nova in the winners circle with a final round win
over points leader, Carly Smith, running a 16.01 on a 15.88 at 81.72 MPH
to Girly's 16.47 on a 16.36 at 83.86 MPH.

Hired gun, Don Himes, driving Billy Nees Ventura dropped in the semis of
Street to Dave Weaver with a -.053 red.

Mike Mackey missed being able to run his pit mate Troy Geyer when he
matched up with Whitmer's Camaro. A late light and a run out pass sealed
his fate when Kevin laid a right on 10.098 on a 10.09 on the sharp
Mopar.

"If Doc lets me spray this tomorrow, I'll bet I'll need some fresh
shorts".

Charkey.

Steve Hull had a great night making it to the semi's of Modified.

The lanes were packed with cool cars.

It's the Geyer guys.

guest appearance in support of the Nostalgia Super Stock circuit.
Between the two, they have 75 years experience in the Drag Racing
promotion business.
