Harhart's classic `62 takes Top Beaver

The finals of Top Beaver pitted Street Champ, Tom Harhart in his
cool 327 powered `62 Impala against Top Champ, Jeff Duck's big
block Chevy dragster. With Tom leaving first cutting a .022 to
Jeff's .020 it was anybodies race.

Duck took the stripe with a run out pass of 7.753 on a 7.77 at
170.16 MPH to Harhart's winning 14.549 on a 14.50 at 87.20 MPH.

Tom won the his first round of Top Beaver over Bike Champ, Billy
Bair.

Top ET finals came down to Mike McCracken's 2010 Camaro and Jeff
Duck's BBC dragster. Mike went for the tree but was .001 early
(ouch) giving the win to "The Duck" with a right on 7.767 on a
7.76 at 172.05 MPH to Mike's 8.691 on a 8.68 at 156.49 MPH.

Everybody's favorite Ford, "The Reverend" Tom Youtzy's `64
Falcon dropped in the semis to Mike McCracken's 2010 Camaro with
a red light.


The finals of Modified pitted two of the best, Ray Thurston in
his gram's Mopar verses Big Dan Swank's Smokin' Malibu. Both
drivers ran right on their dial-ins but Ray's .003 light was the
difference.

Billy Bair's "Screaming Yellow" `Busa took the Bike title over
Dave Davis onboard his Turbo `Busa with a blast of 8.866 on a
8.92 at 151.82 MPH as Dave went red with a -.064 and running a
9.313 on a 9.15 at 154.24 MPH.

In the all Chevrolet Street finals it was Tom Harhart's `62
Impala taking the title over Dennis Mull's `86 Monte Carlo with
a 14.688 on a 14.49 at 76.94 MPH to Mull's troubled 14.703 on a
14.30 at 92.24 MPH.

The Hot Rod Trophy finals was a classic Chevy verses Ford battle
with David Carter picking up the win via a red light over Bob
Hollenbach. Dave ran a 13.015 on a 12.90 at 104.07 MPH to the
331 Chevys 13.061 on a 13.05.

Chanda Ross was on her game pulling off a big win over Kevin
Kohr in the finals with a great .025 light and running a 7.97 on
a 7.90 at 78.77 MPH to Kev'a run out 9.127 on a 9.13 at 70.35
MPH.

The TCR finals could have been mistaken for a Friday Night Sport
Compact finals with Jeremiah Craft out first in mom's Saab over
Brandon Whitmeyer in him mom's Altima. At the stripe it was
Brandon taking the title with a 11.716 on a 11.60 at 61.38 MPH
to Jeremiah's 13.825 on a 13.65 at 52.13 MPH.

The all girl JR ATV finals pitted Danae Roles against Mikala
McCracken. Danae picked up the win with a .023 light and running
out the least with a 11.898 at 49.81 MPH to Mikala's 18.569 on a
18.80 at 32.75 MPH.

In the Lil Beaver finals it looked like Wayne Skelly was going
to continue his lucky streak after winning the 50-50 drawing but
when Dave Dissinger's cut a .002 light in his Vega he pushed
Wayne under his 10.85 dial with a 10.828 as Dave laid a 10.097
on a 10.08 at 126.74 MPH for the title.
WINNER'S CIRCLE

Tom Harhart picked up the Beaver Iron Tree for Street and Top
Beaver.

Daisy, Jeff and Rylee Duck celebrate his Top ET win.

Lil Ray Thurston was the man in Modified.

Tana and Billy Bair are all bundled up but happy in winning
Bike.

David Carter got the big trophy for winning Hot Rod Trophy.

Brandon Skelly took the TCR title in mom's Altima.

Chanda Ross is off and running taking the JR title today.

Dave Dissinger picked up the cash for winning Lil Beaver.

The Beav = Hook City

"The Reverend" stood his supercharged small block Ford way up on
his first pass down the track. Tom went on to set a personal
best ET of 9.156
at 146.13 MPH on a day that wasn't perfect for traction.
Following the pass, Sister Nancy gave Larry the Starter Guy, a
whack on the head for making the track hook too good for her
taste.

They traveled together, they pitted together and they raced
together, but Jeff Krushinski showed Robert Reinert no mercy
dropping him like a bad habit in round one of Modified. BTW:
Jeff's Corvette is just good looking.

Joe Krushinski's `67 Camaro is another good looking ride.

Sue Vollman's dragster picked up the Hoopla's colors over the
winter.

Adam Campbell's Problem Child Lumina.

Andrew Feltman trimmed the tree and took this race over Todd
Thoman.

Shirley Lear's Camaro has an all new look ...and it looks real
good.

Caitlyn Holland took .004 too much stripe in the first round
against Brian Vollman. Cait ran a 8.066 on a 8.07 to 'The
Generals' right on 8.197 on a 8.19. Both drivers had identical
.028 lights. Talk about close!!

Kevin Kohr just got by Tanner Turnbaugh in round one.
Tanner also has an all new look, and it looks real good.

Kyle Kohr in his 'Stealth Black' ride went red in round one to
semi finalist, Dylan Weader. Dylan ran a 9.033 on a 8.97 to
Kyle's 8.019 on a 8.02.

Timmy Danley (far) took the first round win over Bryce Vollman's
"Joker" with a 9.299 on a 8.94 at 54.65 MPH to Bryce's 13.926 on
a 13.41 at 47.80 MPH.

Latricia Yocum and Sarah Danner go at it in JR ATV. Only at the
Beaver.

Liberti Ferster's new look is just outstanding. Beaver Bob sure
likes it too.
More bonus shots

"Doughboy Danner" had his Mustang running 12.00's all day.

Matt Stoker was out too soon with a -.002 light giving the first
round victory to Dave Davis who took runner up for the day.

"Da Carp" dropped Lenny Yocum's `Busa in round one with a 9.933
on a 9.91 at 119.60 MPH when Lenny missed the tree, running a
9.849 on a 9.80.

Sam "Cruiser" Koonsman ran out against Billy Bair's winning
`Busa.

Justin Spaid qualified number one with the best reaction time.

April Derr has really made the jump into the fast side of Top ET
laying down a string of 7.50 passes. She stopped Larry Johnson's
Camaro in round one with a .011 light and running a 7.84 on a
7.50 at only 144.48 MPH.

Larry Johnson will be in the running for Rookie of the Year'
honors making his drag racing début at the age of 55. His
younger brother, Lew, was our Super Pro Champion in 1981.

Lil Ray Thurston became the very first driver to earn the
coveted Golden Beaver Bucks. Ray picked up $25 dollars worth for
his dead-on-run of 12.040 at 108.49 MPH in defeating Andrew
Feltman's Camaro in round one of Mod.
"Way to go Ray, Big Rita is smiling on you today"

Speaking of Andrew Feltman, here he is. Last season, on a test
day, his throttle stuck on a burn out and he hit our christmas
tree. Check out his cars name this year, "Tree Trimmer". We love
it!

of Mod.

Die-hards: Jason and April Derr and their crew guy were dressed
for the occasion. Keep this photo in the back of you mind when

Jeff, Samantha and their cutie daughter. "Sam was our very first
Jr. Dragster driver back in 1992. They sure grow up fast and
beautiful.

Our visitors from Numidia dressed warm for the day as their
fellow racers battled it out for two eliminator wins and the
overall Top Beaver championship.

Joe and Jeff Krushinski, two of our long time racer friends.
The two former Super Pro drivers have forsaken the "Button
racing" for the Modified, footbrake eliminator. When asked why
the switch after starting out racing over 15 years ago in a
delay box class, the boys replied that they feel they have the
talent to compete on their on ability and not rely on
electronics.

Linda, Jake and Vreeland Wood's made the season opener.
Soon they're be two addition Top ET cars in the stable.

It was a great opening day for all of us.

"Larry the starter guy" and Dustin Knepp handled all the on
track action.
