The greatest Nostalgia Race on the East
The Funny Car match race was a great one with Bob Toth taking the title in the Time Bomb Vega over Rocky Pirrone’s Super Camaro with a 6.85 at 205.66 MPH.
The finals in the 51 car field of Nostalgia Super Stockers came down to Richard Barnhart’s GTO verses Dan Wood’s Cobra Jet Mustang. Richard took the win with a right on 9.202 on a 9.20 at 146.72 MPH to Don’s 11.261 on a 11.15 at 112.12 MPH.
The Division 1/JR Stocker finals was a treat for everyone with Mike Szollosy’s `55 Chevy Wagon taking on Larry Schneider’s `57 Special Delivery. The race was over at the tree when Larry went red and handed the title to Mike. Szollosy cranked out a 13.078 on a 12.95 at 102.70 MPH to Schneider’s 14.563 on a 14.50 at 90.99 MPH.
The Gasser finals was a classic with Cricket Clonch in the Mother Nature `57 Chevy taking the title over the English Bros. `39 Studebaker. Cricket ran a 12.177 on a 12.15 at 108.19 MPH in taking the win to Bob’s 10.623 on a 10.65 at 119.88 MPH.
The BSD JR/Stock finals was a Chevy verses Ford battle with the Falcon of Bill Johnson coming out on top turning a 11.624 on a 11.50 at 114.01 MPH to runner up Randy Campbell’s red lighting 13.316 on a 13.30 at 101.43 MPH.
The NETO Comp title fell to John Giamertone’s high winding Comet over Jerry Delanders Duster. John took the win with a 9.859 on a 9.75 at 135.54 MPH to Jerry’s red lighting 9.186 on a 9.00 at 147.63 MPH.
The NETO Nostalgia title round was won by long time racer, Ed Hendrick, in his `72 Nova over Rich Mauceri’s `67 Nova. Ed ran a 10.140 on a 10.00 at 127.91 MPH to Rich’s red lighting 10.186 on a 10.15 at 123.13 MPH.
The A/MP champion round matched Rick Wenger’s `66 Chevelle verses Dick Ruhl’s `55 Chevy. Wenger picked up the title with a run of 11.355 on a 11.25 at 103.59 MPH to Ruhl’s 13.282 on a 13.25 at 101.45 MPH.
The B/MP finals came down to Wayne Farwued’s `69 Chevelle and Darious Wagner’s `72 Nova. Farqued took the title with a 11.439 on a 11.45 at 115.07 MPH to Wagner’s 11.999 on a 12.05 at 111.64 MPH.

Beaver Bob’s longest time NHRA friend, Darwin Doll, was honored with the Founders Award. Darwin is retiring this year from the Muscle Car Madness show but will still be active in the Beaver’s continuation of the Nostalgia Nationals.
Rivals meet: Ed Hendrick’s drove for Bill Jenkin’s Chevrolet’s and Ed Miller had a factory ride with Chrysler Corporation.
Beaver Bob talks with Julio Marra, the founder of Capitol and Aquasco Dragways. Bruce Larson ran at both tracks in his long career.
Radio personality, Lou Costello. He’s one cool guy. In the back ground, Tommy Myl, George Nye and Rocky Pirrone.
Linda Vaughn unfurled the Confederate battle flag for all to see. Linda’s great-great-granddad fought for the Confederacy in the Civil War. It’s a historic heritage that we all honored with our thunderous applause.
